Hop255 is wondering about the privacy and spam issues raised by the Jigsaw business model: A user subscribes and pays $25 per month to access the database or they get a $1 reduction for every contact they add to the database each month. Currently Jigsaw have 2.8 million entries with 7000 being added each day. Users in database can supposedly amend data concerning them but not delete that data. Presumably they have to join to know if they are included. Only business card information is included. Users get points for correcting data and lose points for having posted incorrect and out of date data
A simple solution, from a company wanting to do the right thing, would be to allow users to put in their email address, without subscribing, and if listed choose to have that entry deleted and blocked from further inclusion
